Report Tiomila 2026
Last weekend it was time again for the highlight of the spring: 10mila! This time it took place in Tranås. Many tired but happy SSK runners came home to Huddinge with, among other things, a new club record
Tiomila is when the whole orienteering community is meeting to measure who is the best team at the moment. Either on the youth, women or men.
It was a sunny and warm Saturday afternoon when the youth youth started the weekend. We have seen many good performances and everybody did orienteer well. Resulting places: 35, 75, 126, 145

In the womens relay we could achieve again a new club record (after last years 63th) now down to place 61! Great performances in the night and good day legs were the key to sucess this time for the still very young team! The 2nd team managed to finish as 151st.

The mens team did have a solid weekend achieving 36rd place, not much behind the modern times clubrecord of 32nd last year. Confirming that the team aims to clear top30 in the feature. Team 2 and 3 did finish as 152nd and 237th.

The extra punching and "control number checking" training we had two weeks before 10mila seems to have payed off. No mispunches this year!
This year we let the participants speak:
"After a 2025 full of injuries that kept me away from the starting line, it was very special to be back at 10Mila this year. The second leg had a bit of everything: hills, green areas, depressions... A really fun day overall!"
Brais Pineiro Fraga
"Seems that walking back 1.4km to the accomodation was more tiring than running the longnatt ????
Also sometimes all we need after running is a hug and a warm tea!
Playing Mario Kart somehow helps to get into competition mode ????"
Chloe Haberkorn
"Fantastiskt intensiv och rolig ungdomskavle! Vilka ungdomar vi har!"
Elin Svensson
"10Mila Tranås - omväxlande och utmanande terräng. Alla lag godkända och grymt jobbat med alla ungdomar som var med i Dam- och Herrlagen!"
Henrik Norell
"Thank you to everyone who made it such a great first experience with Snättringe and at 10mila. I enjoyed getting to know people and was amazed to see so many people working from the youth relay through the night to keep things going smoothly. My experiences at relays in the past have not had this type of support, so thank you. I'm proud to have contributed a good run for the team and had such a good time speaking to people in the house, and I look forward to the next one. Jag ska fortsätta att öva min svenska, och kanske vi kan prata bättre i nästa gång."
Thomas Laraia
"Tiomila was as always long anticipated, and as part of the men's selection committee we have been discussing different solutions for the team all winter. This year was special, as we had so many question marks (injuries, tooth problems, runners which we didn't know the shape of) until the very end, so the team selections had to be only on the Monday before and even be changed on the Friday evening before the race. Regarding all these uncertainties, I think we had a good race, finishing only four positions down since last year, but I'm sure that we will be better in the future if we put in the hard work. This development process that we are in is so fun to be a part of, and I hope we have the power to screw it up one notch for the next years!
Regarding my own experience, it was an incredible feeling to run with 20-30 guys behind on Långa Natten, everyone looking at me and trusting my orienteering. An experience I will remember when I get old!"

"This years 10mila was definitely worth the wait. Fantastic atmosphere and the best orienteering clubs in the world. Personally, I did not have the best preparation this winter, but spring competitions helped to reach a usable physical shape. Highlight of the night was watching Långa natten in the arena!"
Jekabs Janovs
"I enjoyed the great club-spirit the most, positive attitude. We saw a lot of good solid orienteering by our runners, but of course mistakes will happen during such long relays. What was really cool when mistakes were made was, that the time loss was kept to a minimum, showing that we have a growing understanding of how we shall run relays. Also, the individual stories: Albin running the long night without a lamp for the last half hour, deciding it was better than trying to fix with the extra lamp and risking loosing the group
And Yoav running basically in “Indian moccasins “ since he looses the “sulor” on the orientering skor
And Frida -TV time trying to locate the tricky control on a knoll on the steeep hill side, together with basically everyone else on that forking"

"Fint utgångsläge från killarna innan. Jag gör ett bra tekniskt lopp rakt igenom. Kan leta upp totalt 1min i olika mindre saker men i övrigt perfekt. Dock extremt långsamma ben. Fick gå i backarna redan halvvägs. Tråkigt men bara att bita ihop. Mitt sista 10mila i första laget?"
Anders Hedman
"We are one of the largest clubs in Sweden! Only a handfull clubs can match 9 teams."
"Great to see so many smiles!"
